ASTA appoints new President for 2018-2019

 ASTA is delighted to announce that Geoff Quinton has been elected to the role of President, for 2018-2019. 

Geoff is a proud member of STAWA and is the Head of Science at Perth College, Perth Western Australia.  Geoff is well qualified for the role and has a wealth of science education experience spanning primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, and understands the various pedagogies used within each of these levels of education.  In addition to this Geoff has worked at national and state level, playing a significant role in reviewing the Australian Curriculum: Science during his time at Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority and then later supporting curriculum implementation and assessment with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.

Geoff’s focus will be on empowering members to become better teachers thus improving the teaching of science for all young Australians.

Geoff will commence his term in 2017 as the ASTA President Elect, before officially stepping into the role of President in 2018-2019.
