The 2014 ASTA-Japan Exchange

Posted 5 September 2014 by System Administrator (Latest News)

The ASTA Science Teacher Exchange - Japan is an annual program that allows secondary and primary Science teachers from Australia the chance to travel to Japan and absorb the rich culture, improve their intercultural understanding and forge new professional connections with international organisations and individuals.

The program received generous support in 2014 from the AUSTRALIA JAPAN FOUNDATION (AJF) through a grant which gave ASTA the opportunity to cover the bulk of the travel and accommodation costs for the successful applicants.

The 2014 exchange delegation was selected by application in August. The successful applicants were:

  • Gary Tilley, Seaforth Primary School, NSW
  • Leah Taylor, St Anthony's Parish Primary School, ACT
  • Danielle Spencer, Mitchelton State Primary School, QLD
  • Sarah Chapman, Townsville State High School, QLD

The delegation will leave for Tokyo on 27 September, returning 4 October. You can follow their adventures in Japan at asta-japan.blogspot.com.au, through the ASTA Facebook Page and on Twitter (#ASTAJapan14)
