Science and Consumer and Financial Literacy
ASTA, in collaboration with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has produced units of work for science teachers that embed Consumer and Financial literacy in the teaching of science.
Developed by science teachers, these units, designed for Years 6–10, reflect the importance of Consumer and Financial Literacy for our students.
Young people are increasingly exposed to consumer pressures and are interacting with money from an earlier age. The everyday consumer and financial decisions they make will impact over time on their quality of life, opportunities they can pursue, their sense of security and well being and overall economic health of our society.
