ASTA iCubed AWARDS
About the ASTA iCubed Awards
The ASTA iCubed Awards program is a collaboration between all members of the ASTA Federation, comprising each state and territory’s Science Teachers Association and the ASTA Secretariat.
The program celebrates inquiry, innovation and ingenuity across Australian school students of STEM to provide a truly national reach. The ASTA iCubed Awards targets primary and secondary school students across Australia, with a special emphasis on engaging all students from our diverse cultural, socioeconomic and geographical populations.
The awards program seeks to inspire and motivate the next generation of scientists, innovators and problem solvers by providing an opportunity for students to showcase their scientific talents and creativity.
This Australia-wide national science fair fosters and celebrates a strong STEM culture in youth across all regions and communities, and inspires the next generation to pursue STEM-related fields.
ASTA recognises the importance of delivering a national awards program, whereby students who have excelled in their region’s STEM competition can progress to a higher level competition. National winners will receive cash prizes and a certificate.
Entry to the ASTA iCubed Awards is open to school students from Preschool to Year 12 who have demonstrated exceptional results in their state or territory STEM awards program, and is via nomination only through a state or territory Science Teachers Association (STA).
Each STA may nominate up to eight projects across the senior and junior categories for consideration in the national competition.
