The person, who must be a current member of an ASTA member Science Teacher Association, will lead the ASTA Board in the implementation of the ASTA Strategic Plan.

The position, ASTA President, is a four (4) year term comprising: 

  • President Elect 2025 — induction phase
  • President 2026 – 2027 — leadership phase
  • Immediate Past President 2028 — support phase

The position is voluntary — the successful nominee is offered a rewarding experience providing unique leadership, networking and professional development opportunities. The position is supported by combined administrative, ICT and management support of the ASTA Secretariat based remotely.

Nominations must include the following:

  • Name and membership number details of the nominee, their nominator, and the seconder
  • A maximum of two typed pages addressing nominee’s suitability to the role and their vision for ASTA
  • A current CV
