Introducing the NEW Critical Minerals Kit (TESEP Aust. Critical Mineral Kit Teaching Pack) & Integrated Mineral Stories (Year 8-12 STEM/EES), 3:20-3:35pm

Fossils, Evolution & the 5 Big Extinctions (Aust. fossil changes through time, big extinctions, integrated plate tectonics/climate & volcanic events) (Year 9-12 STEM/EES), 3:35-5:20pm

Riding the Climate Rollercoaster (climate through geologic time, influence of climate events in Earth’s history/fossil extinctions) (Year 6-12), 5:25-7:00pm

School: Naracoorte HS, Stewart Terr, Naracoorte SA   

Meeting Room: Sign in at front office and get directed to the C5 meeting room, (supper provided)

Date: Wednesday 04 December 2024 PD workshop,      Facilitator: Lisa Hurrell

1. PD workshops – After-school professional development workshops for teachers (2-PD sessions @ $60 per attendee for visiting teachers, FREE to host-school teachers).

2. ASTA Certificate of attendance – A certificate of hours and workshop outcomes will be issued.

3. FREE first-time – for Host FREE rock or critical mineral kit and Plate Tectonics poster.

4. Introductory Rocks/Critical Minerals – feature How to Use the Rock & Critical Mineral Kit and Teaching Pack (Earth history in rock/mineral stories, 3D renders, virtual thin sections/outcrops). 

5. Subsequent RocksExpo topics can be chosen from TESEP’s “The Challenging Earth” series

 

Presenter: Andy Mills is a keen sedimentary basin geologist, who has worked in industry across Australia. He has many years of studying the geology of the region and in teaching earth science.
