What we offer

ASTA offers an array of programs, events, and resources designed to support teachers at every stage of their careers. Key initiatives include:

Teaching resources and curriculum support: Our members have access to a wealth of classroom resources (such as Spectra), lesson plans and educational materials that align with the Australian Curriculum. ASTA works closely with educators to create engaging, hands-on science content that brings concepts to life for students.

Publications and insights: ASTA publishes Teaching Science, a peer-reviewed journal filled with articles, research and practical ideas for science educators.

National Science Week and events: ASTA plays a significant role in organising and promoting National Science Week, an annual celebration of science that engages students, teachers and the public in hands-on, inspiring activities.

Science Assist: ASTA’s Science Assist is a national online advisory service offering expert guidance and resources for schools on best practices in science education, safety, and laboratory management. This invaluable service helps ensure safe, high-quality learning environments for science students across Australia.
