Support ASTA:
Make a difference today
At the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA), we are dedicated to supporting science educators across the country by providing high-quality resources, professional development, and opportunities for collaboration. Your generosity helps us continue this important work, ensuring every teacher has the tools and knowledge to inspire the next generation of scientists.
How you can help
Your donation directly supports our programs, resources, and initiatives that empower science teachers to make a meaningful impact in their classrooms. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

In 2002, Ruth Dircks was the inaugural winner of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools and was awarded $60,000. Ruth generously donated this money to ASTA to cover the cost of attendance of teachers at the CONASTA Science Teaching Conference each year. ASTA named this award the ‘Ruth Dircks CONASTA Scholarship’ in her honour. This year two $1,500 scholarships were awarded to support their registration, travel and accommodation.

The Rowe Scientific National Student Investigation Program (NSIP) was first introduced in 2016, and since then, has benefited thousands of students across Australia, thanks to the generous support of Mr Reg Rowe. Students are awarded NSIP prizes through their state or territory Science Teachers Association (STA) awards program. Since the commencement of the Rowe NSIP, it has been an enabler, it has directly supported and recognised the students involved in inquiry-based science activities that are essential to developing the STEM capabilities needed for the jobs of the future.
